Rise Up Climbing, Central Virginia's premier indoor gym, is celebrating its fifth anniversary in a big way with special offers, but it's only for one day.
Sept. 28 marks five years for Rise Up Climbing and they want to thank the Lynchburg community by offering some great 5.5 specials to celebrate.
Those visiting Rise Up Climbing on Saturday, Sept. 28 can choose one or all of these specials:
- Climb all day for only $5, less than half the regular price of $13
- Gear rental for $5
- Basic skills instruction for $5, a big savings from the regular price of $25
- Regular membership initiation for $5, normally up to $75 in cost
Rise Up Climbing, located in downtown Lynchburg at 1225 Church Street, is open daily. Rise Up hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday are from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m.
On Tuesday and Thursday, Rise Up Climbing is open from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Monday is College Night with $8 walk-in admission and $3 rental for all college students. Rise Up is also available for birthday parties, groups and team building events.
The beginners class will teach you about belaying, one of the most important skills in rock climbing. The rope links the climber and the belayer together to allow you to climb safely.
Safety is very important when climbing and the majority of climbing accidents involve not tying in properly. After the 30 minute beginners class, you are free to climb on your own at each visit.
The 40-foot climbing wall at Rise Up Climbing will challenge you and help prepare you for bigger outdoor adventures. Some climbers remain content climbing indoors, but others feel called to increase their skills with outdoor climbs.
The new season began Sept. 10 for the Rise Up Climbing teams. The 10-week sessions fill up quickly each year. Climbing is a great way to challenge yourself while having fun.
Check out the Rise Up Climbing website to see videos of climbers on the indoor wall, then head to Rise Up Climbing on Saturday to take advantage of the one-day 5.5 specials.
The Virginia 10 Miler on Sept. 28 will bring thousands of runners to Lynchburg. If you're in town for the 10 Miler, stop in at Rise Up Climbing while you're here for a great adventure.
