Sometimes the Spirit serves to strengthen your body but the mind may not be willing. Past hurts and pain often hold one back from proceeding ahead as life requires changes to happen. Things like abuse, heart break and even fear can hold one back. But when we give our all to Jesus and realize that He gives us a pure, clean heart in Him, we can take that first step. (Matthew 5:8) We can look for healing in the Word. (Isaiah 58:8 LEB) Yes, the Doctor may have diagnosed a certain disease but within the Word there are scriptures to meditate and call upon for direction and relief. The Bible doesn’t say that we stop attending doctor appointments however we must match the natural knowledge of medicine with what the promises of the spiritual have shown and proved. Remember that God does not give us the spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7 TLB) When we pay more attention to the world, that is where the fear comes from. Faith is the absence of evidence yet still holding true to the Word. God’s Word stands strong in all storms. (Deuteronomy 7:9 TLB) He reigns, He reign, He reigns supreme. When past hurts, pains and fear rise up, bring them to their knees when you kneel upon yours and meditate on the unfailing, consistent and powerful Word of God. (Psalm 77:6-15 MSG) With the combination of the Word, a calm, pure heart and a flexible spirit any storm can be surmounted.
