RIP- regional investigators of the paranormal.

Most of you who read my articles know that I love to write about teams in Indiana. I think it is great that there are so many options for people experiencing paranormal activity. Originally RIP started in Danville, IL, and are in the works of branching off into RIP-eastern division.

RIP was started in March of 2009 by Jason Welker and Nick Trosper. Their reasons for starting this group were due to their interest in the paranormal and the hopes of helping others understand the paranormal. I believe this is one of the largest groups I have come across. This group is 16 members strong.

RIP is like any other team when it comes to equipment. In their arsenal of equipment is EMF detectors, digital voice recorders, K-2 meters, infrared cameras, and laptop saving evidence. It is interesting for me to understand the workings of other groups. I am always interested in knowing how they go about an investigation. Everyone is different and most teams have a certain protocol when going into a place. RIP's protocol for investigating private homes and businesses, is to respect the client's wishes. Whatever the client wants is what will be done. An example given to me was confidentiality. If they want everything to be confidential, then it will be. This is an important part of investigating someone's property.

Since RIP has been around they have investigated a total of 58 locations. 27 private residences, 9 business like places, and 21 cemeteries/others.  Some of the business like places the group has been to are Roff House-Watseka,IL, Fisher Theater-Danville,IL, Black Moon Manor-Greenfield,IN, and McPike Manion-Alton,IL.

It is always interesting to know what favorite locations some of the team members have. Nick's favorite location is Black Moon Manor, due to all the personal experiences, a plastic skull flying off the fireplace, and Hope being scratched and Jason's would be the Roff House beacuse there is a lot of history within the house such as having the first documented possession in US history, and not to mention the ability to investigate it.

Even though they are a non-profit group, they all treat this like a job by our professionalism and dedication. They are here to debunk as much stuff as they can and to help our clients in their time of need.

As I mentioned above they are branching out into Indiana, theere will be an open house this summer. If you would like to contact RIP, feel free to check out their website, RIP, check them out on Facebook , or you can call Misty Kimball @ 217-260-1176 or Hope Jackson @ 217-799-9876 .
