RIP Princess Lacey became trending in many forms on Twitter on April 9. According to FOX News, Lacey was an 8-year-old girl who made news when Adreian Payne carried her onto the floor during the Senior Night ceremony after a Michigan State game. She instantly warmed the hearts of thousands, many whom followed her story ever since. She first met Adreian two years ago and the two became great friends.

"Princess Lacey has achieved the ultimate victory. She now dances among angels --¦ the world is a better place because you were in it. Our hearts are broken. We love you doll (sic)," read a message on Instagram today. People all over the country began tweeting about Lacey, many sending out their condolences to a family they didn't even know.

Princess Lacey (as she is known in the Internet world) battled cancer for two years. In Nov. 2013, she and her family found out that her cancer had spread. She underwent numerous treatments but her body could no longer fight. Neuroblastoma is a very aggressive cancer and Lacey needed surgery, chemo, and other treatment which allowed her to hang on for two years.

Little Lacey called Adreian Payne "Superman" while he called her his "Little Sis." However it's clear to see who the real "Superman" is here... and the irony is just perfect. Lacey was a beautiful girl and so many people's lives were made better by her strength and her smile.

Princess Lacey is survived by her parents, Matt and Heather Holsworth, and her three brothers, William, Mitchell, and Luke.
