Riot Wednesdays at The Saloon, two local hip hop groups to perform

Two of CLT's hottest hip hop groups will perform at The Saloon on February 15th, doors open at 9 PM. The Legacy Committee and The Truth of the QC will perform separately as part of Riot Wednesdays. The Truth of the QC is Headlining the event with a 45 minute set, while The Legacy Committee will have a 15 minute set.

The Legacy Committee is comprised of solo artists Orion (Ryan Trotti,) GQ (Pat Patterson,) and A. Dunn (Amanda Dunn.) The Legacy Committee has performed at some of the hottest clubs in the Queen City, in addition to Grand openings, fashion shows, and opening act slots. Their rising popularity has caught the attention of Koch Records, which landed The Legacy Committee on their upcoming Sony Distributed "Pride of the Carolinas" compilation CD.

The Legacy Committee recently performed in a packed theater at the EpiCenter. They are also headlining the Passport for Fashion show on April 21st, at the Music Factory film studios. This is a huge fashion event that had over 2500 people in attendance, last year. The event also benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The Truth of the QC (Blake Rothmel,) is a solo act with many talents. One of his most impressive talents is undoubtedly, his writing method. Or more specifically, his "Non-Writing" Method. "I feel like a pen and pad bind me. I feel like my songs are already written, just kind of floating around in little pieces. I just pace around the room and piece it together in my head," Rothmel said.

The Legacy Committee has performed at the Saloon on several occasions, while Wednesday's performance will be a first at The Saloon for Rothmel, who has previously performed at Halo. The 45 minute performance will also be The Truth of the QC's longest performance of his career. "I'm looking forward to meeting my listeners and sharing this performance with them," Rothmel said. "I think that it is definitely important to strengthen the connection between the artist and the listeners."

Rothmel also feels very blessed and overly grateful for the support of his Mom, Dad, friends, and family.  When asked about what he would tell aspiring artists, Rothmel says, "Kids do everything u can to chase your dreams, and parents do everything u can to help and allow your kids to chase their dreams."

In 2010, Rothmel spent two months recording "NameSake's" Debut album with Famed Record Producer, James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Conf., New Found Glory, Under Oath...) Recently, Rothmel was Nominated for two Carolina Music Awards, New Artist of The Year and Music Video of The Year. He also released an Independent Mixtape, "The Rhythm of My Life." Rothmel recently auditioned for America's Got Talent, in addition to performing at Inkfest Live.

Both Orion and The Truth of the QC have been featured on 95.1 Kiss FM's "Otis O Show."
