RINGO'S PEACE AND LOVE CELEBRATION IN NEW YORK: We have photos from the Associated Press of the birthday celebration at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York. They're in the slideshow at the bottom of the page.

RINGO REMINISCES: Ringo Starr had a wonderful interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC this morning. You can see it in the video below. In it, he says his biggest vice is too much working out. And given the choice, he'd rather be Lady Gaga than Justin Bieber (even though Bieber has a Beatle haircut). He also says he'll never forget landing in New York in 1964. "Arriving in New York is still one of the most incredible moments of my life. And there was no plan. We didn't know him, he didn't know us, he just booked us, and by the time we got here it was number one and crazy, but it was just great." The New York Times also had a short interview.

VINTAGE RINGO: Veteran DJ Dennis Elsas has posted some of his past interviews with Ringo Starr on his website as a way to honor Ringo's birthday. Elsas, you recall, was the disc jockey who had John Lennon act as DJ in his studio on a September day in 1974. Lennon introduced records, talked about the Beatles and various topics, and even did the weather and commercials.  Excerpts from that are on his website as well.

GARY WRIGHT WEBCHAT: Current Ringo Starr All-Starr Band member Gary Wright, who recently released "Connected," his first pop-rock album in over 20 years, will participate in a live video chat at 2 p.m. EST Thursday at http://www.livestream.com/garywright. Questions can be submitted through a Livestream chat window at Wright’s Facebook page and Twitter.
