Ringo Starr Exhibit to Open

An exhibit featuring Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is to open at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on June 12.

"Ringo: Peace and Love" is being billed as "the first major exhibition to explore the life of Ringo Starr" and will feature many items from the rock drummer's career, such as the drum kit he played on "The Ed Sullivan Show", his 'Sgt. Pepper' uniform and the red jacket he wore during the Beatles' final rooftop concert of Abbey Road studios in London, England.

There is also an interactive feature, allowing budding drummers to gain tips from the72-year old Liverpudlian musician, as well as newly unearthed photos and film footage. Starr, real name Richard Starkey, is the third Beatle to be featured, following John Lennon and George Harrison.

It will be the first exhibit in the United States to focus on a rock drummer, and will run through November. Select cities will also be visited after the exhibit is over.
