Ringo Starr among celebrity guests for Grammy honor to Neil Young

Ringo Starr will be among a host of famous names paying tribute to Neil Young when the Recording Academy Producers and Engineers Wing honors the music veteran Jan. 21 in West Los Angeles, the Academy announced in a press release Jan. 15.

Other celebrities attending the event besides Ringo will include T-Bone Burnett, Colbie Caillat, Andrew Dost of fun, Jakob Dylan, former Ringo All-Starr Sheila E., Louise Goffin, Kaz of Redlight King, Kris Kristofferson, Liz Phair, Rick Rubin, sChad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joe Walsh, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow, Recording Academy Chair Christine Albert, L.A. Chapter President Mindi Abair and members of The Recording Academy producers and engineers wing, along with musical artists, producers and other prominent music industry figures.

The Neil Young tribute takes place at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Village Recording Studios, 1616 Butler Ave., West Los Angeles. Red carpet arrivals start at 7:30 p.m.

It was announced Tuesday that both Ringo and Paul McCartney would be performing at the Grammy Awards ceremony.
