‘Ringmaster’ developer thinks game will educate non-wrestling fans

iOS developer Brian Papa played THQ and AKI’s classic grapplers “WCW/NWO Revenge” while in college and still remembers the experience to this day.

If all things go to plan, Papa says he’d like his game to eventually be able to create the same type of feelings for a new generation of gamers. A wrestling promoting sim for the iOS currently in development, Papa said that the game, much like the classic THQ/AKI grapplers, appeals to gamers regardless of if they like wrestling or not and can even teach them how the business works.

“If you’re a wrestling fan, you’re going to like it,” Papa said in an exclusive interview with Examiner. “This game is being created by two guys that have watched and loved wrestling for over 25 years. If you’re not a wrestling fan, there will be things about the business in general that you won’t understand at first and ‘Ringmaster’ is a good way to learn those things and educate you. It’ll be interesting for them.”

The game is currently in the middle of a Kickstarter run and with six days left to go, has raised $3,756 of the $30,000 needed to complete the project.
