Ringing in the New Year in San Francisco

It’s that time of year where we celebrate the end of 2013 and the promise that a new year brings. There are many ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve throughout San Francisco, including dancing, dining and cocktailing. Here are some options to find the perfect choice for your own celebration.

Dancing:
Press Club: Join the dance party and live coverage of New Year’s Eve festivities and iconic ball drop while sipping wine or beer at San Francisco’s favorite wine bar. Guests will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling rosé upon arrival and another glass of wine or beer during the evening, included in the ticket price. A limited menu of delicious, light bites and additional wines are available for purchase. Details: From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $75 in advance or $100 at the door. Tickets are available here.

Audio: Join the inaugural New Year’s Eve Party while you dance to night away to tunes by FEHRPLAY. Enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Bergerac from 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Details: From 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., tickets cost $35 per person; $70 per person for open bar. E-Mail reservations@audiosf.com to reserve a table for the New Year’s Eve bash. Tickets sold separately and need to be purchased in addition to the table.

CLIFT: The festivities take place between Velvet Room and Redwood Room, where you will dance music from popular DJs, while enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres, premium bar and an exuberant and sexy vibe.

Dinner & Dancing:
Palace Hotel Lavish Epicurean Six Course Dinner Dance at Pied Piper Bar & Grill
Music by Josh Klipp and the Klipptones featuring Emily Day. Enjoy Party Favors and a Midnight Champagne Toast. Details: Seatings from 8:30 p.m., 9:00 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. $115 per person.

Top of the Mark at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins: Enjoy a six-course dinner, panoramic views, and dancing the night away at the legendary Top of the Mark. A bottle of Moet Chandon Imperial is waiting at each guest’s table; a delicious six-course meal including lobster, beef filet, and other sumptuous dishes; dancing to live music from Ascenion Band playing R&B funk; and a champagne toast at midnight. Details: Festivities from 7:30 p.m.- 1:30 a.m., cost $375 per person or $425 per person with window seating. Prices do not include gratuity or sales tax. Formal attire is requested. Just Dinner:
Palace Hotel Elegant Dinner: Enjoy an early dinner featuring four-courses with dinner seatings at 5:30pm, 6:00pm & 6:30pm $75 per person at the Pied Piper Bar & Grill.

Palace Hotel Enchanting Speakeasy Lounge Experience: Enjoy Reserved Lounge Seating and Chef’s New Year’s Bites, Party Favors and a Midnight Champagne Toast. Seatings at 9:30pm, 10:00pm & 10:30pm. $80 per couple.

Hi Lo BBQ NYE Pig Party: They are going whole hog with a Pig Roast and Open Bar. Enjoy all you can eat pork and cocktails at the ALL NIGHT open bar. A DJ and dance floor will keep the good times rolling as it gets closer to midnight and mezzanine makeouts. Tickets: $90, available online.

Gitane: For $85 guests can enjoy an accelerated, but delightful three course dinner for the first seating. For the second and third seatings, guests can experience a decadent four course menu for $155. Reservations can be made online or by calling 415-786-6686.

Cafe Claude: Enjoy a three course dinner for $85 in one of the newest and hottest restaurant's in San Francisco's Marina District. Reservations can be made online or by calling 415-375-9550.

Bluestem Brasserie: Partake in either a three or four-course prix fixe New Year’s Eve Dinner. The first seating is three course meal, followed by a festive four-course seating. For full details and to make your reservation, visit their website or call 415-547-1111.

La Urbana: The New Year’s Eve menu will feature upscale Cantina-style cooking, simply prepared with seasonal Northern Californian ingredients and a touch of Spanish influence. Canela Bistro & Wine Bar: Dine on sumptuous Spanish far starting at 6:00pm. Each reservation includes a complimentary glass of Cava. Come celebrate at Canela and indulge in authentic Spanish cuisine ($90/person).

Foreign Cinema: Join the “Sexy Tiki” Party and Dinner on New Years Eve. Enjoy a four-course celebratory menu and Polynesian themed evening with music and entertainment. Blue Hawaii starring Elvis Presley is the featured movie. Waiheke Island Yacht Club: Celebrate at this pop-up restaurant on their last day of service at their New Year’s Eve party. For more information or to make a reservation, call 415-956-1048.

SPQR: Enjoy a special New Year’s Eve dinner at this Michelin-starred restaurant including a nine-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings. A16: Ring in the New Year with a six-course menu priced at $95 per person with an optional $75 wine pairing. Reservations extend from 5:00 pm -11:00 pm, but the restaurant will remain open to ring in the New Year.

One Market: Savor a special menu featuring steak tartare, grilled rack of lamb, braised veal osso buco and oysters on the half shell. After dinner watch the fireworks show visible from outside the restaurant. Details: Two seating’s are available at a cost of $80 per person from 6-7:30 p.m. and $125 per person from 9-10:30 p.m. Reservations highly encouraged, visit the website www.onemarket.com or call 415-777-5577 for reservations.

CHAYA Brasserie: Enjoy a sumptuous meal and front-row seats to the city’s spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display at midnight. The evening will include a live musical performance. Details: First Seating from 5:30-7 p.m. is $85 per person for the three-course chef’s menu; Second Seating from 9-10 p.m. is $180 per person and includes a five-course chef’s menu with Champagne toast; Sushi Omakase experience exclusively at the sushi bar ($120 per person). Luce at the InterContinental San Francisco: Celebrate with a 5-course menu with amuse, intermezzo, and a glass of Champagne in addition to regular breakfast and lunch service. Details: Dinner will run from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Cost for adults is $129 per person or $195 with wine pairing, exclusive of gratuity and sales tax. Children are half price for those 12 years old and younger.

LarkCreekSteak: Enjoy an a la carte menu to include: filet mignon tartar, baked oysters, baked salt-crusted whole sea bream, whole baked Maine lobster and a wide selection of USDA prime steak choices and seasonal sides. Southside Spirit House: Enjoy an open bar from 9 – 10 p.m., passed hors d'oeuvres from 9 -11 p.m., complimentary champagne toast at midnight with party favors, hats and noisemakers and DJ Sticky Ricardo spinning music all night, all for $28.
