Ring of Honor Wrestling held their latest big event last night and "Death Before Dishonor XI" was a mixed bag, depending on where you saw it at. People at the event in Philadelphia saw one of the best wrestling cards of the year, but PWInsider reported on Sept. 21 that people who watched on iPPV had a different experience and missed a couple of matches.
The event was a partnership between Ring of Honor and the online provider Go Fight Live (GFL). The one positive thing about the iPPV is that Ring of Honor has had streaming problems for a long time and GFL offered this one free to show how seamlessly the new iPPVs would run.
Unfortunately, this did not go well. BJ Whitmer announced his retirement on the show, and the iPPV cut out when this happened. The show also missed out on the end of the Roderick Strong vs. Ricky Marvin match as well as most of the eight man tag team match. It also froze up on occasion in the main event match between Adam Cole and Michael Elgin for the world title.
It was a very poor experience for anyone who might think of spending money on a ROH iPPV in the future.
For those who missed ROH "Death Before Dishonor XI" event and want to own it, Ring of Honor is offering everyone a chance to pre-order it for $14.95 on DVD.
Also, with the new world champion Adam Cole ready to start his reign, the company will hold their next TV tapings this weekend in Philadelphia as well.
