Ring of Honor holds their next big event, “Glory by Honor XI,” this weekend in Chicago Ridge, Ill. According to PWS on Oct. 22, Ring of Honor has released their entire card and there are surprisingly quite a few matches.
The reason this is a surprise is because all the Ring of Honor champions are involved in one big eight man tag team match with an announced two hour time limit. With six matches scheduled other than that big one, that means there will be a lot of short matches, a very long event, or the main event will go nowhere near the time limit.
That main event sees all the champions – who at this time are all heels – team up to battle their top contenders. World champion Adam Cole, TV champion Matt Taven and tag champs reDRagon team up to battle Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal and C&C Wrestle Factory. If one of the faces wins, they get a guaranteed future title match.
With no title matches on the “Glory by Honor XI” card, the rest of the matches are mostly just regular exhibitions.
The exceptions are the Kevin Steen vs. Michael Elgin match, which is advertised as a “Battle of the Piledrivers” and the Jimmy Jacobs vs. Adam Page match, where Jacobs is trying to win enough matches to get his job back with ROH.
Paul London returns to ROH for another match, this one with Roderick Strong in what might be the Match of the Night.
Other matches include Mark Briscoe vs. Silas Young, Outlaw Inc vs. Adrenaline RUSH, and former TNA star Jessy Sorensen vs. Tomasso Ciampa. Also scheduled to appear is former WWE and TNA star Lisa Marie Varon (Tara, Victoria) and Jay Briscoe will likely show up as well.
Ring of Honor “Glory by Honor XI” takes place on Saturday night, Oct. 26.
