Ring of Honor is still working on booking their biggest card of the year, “ROH Final Battle 2013.” The main event was already set last week and now PWS reported on Nov. 3 that a second match has been booked for the card.
The match already announced was the world title match between champion Adam Cole and his number one contender Michael Elgin. That match was changed in last night’s Cincinnati show “The Golden Dream,” when Jay Briscoe beat Kevin Steen to make the “Final Battle 2013” match a triple threat.
Now, the second match is for the ROH TV title between Matt Taven and Tommaso Ciampa.
While the “Glory by Honor” event saw Jay Lethal involved in the champions vs. all-stars match as the top contender to the TV title, “The Golden Dream” saw a new number one contender. Ciampa beat Lethal and Mark Briscoe in a triple threat match and earned his shot at “Final Battle 2013.”
Ciampa is considered one of the top young stars in Ring of Honor, although his development was postponed by a year when he tore his ACL. Since he return, he has looked good on his way back and actually made it to the semi-finals of the world title tournament in September.
ROH “Final Battle 2013” takes place on Dec. 14 in New York City.
