Lou Neglia's Ring of Combat has been one of the top MMA promotions on the East Coast for a while now. They've put on several events in their long history, and have produced many high level elite MMA fighters. Ring of Combat is returning to Atlantic City on January 24th, with ROC 47. Lou Neglia's Ring of Combat 47 will be returning to none other than the Tropican Resort & Casino, and it is stacked with FIVE Championship bouts including the main event between Pat DeFranco and Chris Wade.
Chris Wade holds a record of 5-1 going into this ROC Lightweight Title fight. Wade is a ROC veteran, and is undefeated in 5 fights with Ring of Combat. He recently came off his first loss of his professional career against Ozzy Dugulubgov at WSOF 2: Arlovski vs. Johnson via Unanimous Decision. Wade has his hands full though, facing off with the 4-2 Pat DeFranco.
DeFranco is 4-2, and is currently on a 4-fight win streak. He's also a ROC veteran, fighting all 6 of his fights with the company. His last loss at ROC 43 came by a very close Split Decision. DeFranco rebounded nicely after that loss, defeating Willie Hosch via Guillotine Choke within the first round. DeFranco's opponent is coming off a loss of his own, so DeFranco will have to make sure the same doesn't happen to him.
Other fighters appearing on this stacked fight card include Ariel Sepulveda, the undefeated Julio Arce, and even TUF 13 alum Chris Cope. The following is the full fight card for ROC 47, starting from beginning to end:
Kenny Gaudreau vs Gregor Gillespie
Jim Boudourakis vs Gil Isabel
Mike Elshamy vs Oluwale Bamgbose
Darren Mima vs Merab Dvalishvili
Jonathan Hughes vs Stephen Regman
Mike Santiago vs Frankie Perez
Leodegario Muniz vs Jose Villanueva
Elijah Harshbarger vs Chris Cope
Adam Kantaev vs James Jenkins
Keith Berish vs Ariel Sepulveda
Jason McLean vs Julio Arce
Pat DeFranco vs Chris Wade
Also, as reported by CageCraze.com, UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman, former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie "The Answer" Edgar, and former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt "The Terror" Serra will be making an appearance at ROC 47. Weidman fought for ROC four times, including a victory over TUF 17 runner-up Uriah Hall, before joining the UFC with a 4-0 record. Frankie Edgar fought for ROC twice, including a fight against Binns Management client and Martinez BJJ student Steve McCabe.
