Boston’s Best Cruises will have three cruises on New Year’s Eve; two Ranger-narrated Harbor tours during the day, in conjunction with the National Park Service and the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, and their annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks Cruise.
The First Night Harbor Cruise is a perfect event for families. The tour will be narrated by a Boston Harbor Islands National Park Ranger, and give highlights about the Boston Harbor Island and Boston Harbor .
There will be two 90-minute cruises, the first departing at 1pm and the second departing at 3pm from the Long Wharf Ferry Center in Boston , right next to Christopher Columbus Park . Children under 12 with a 2012 Boston First Night button will ride for free. 2012 First Night buttons are being sold at the Boston ’s Best Cruises Quincy Ferry Terminal at 703 Washington Street , Quincy , as well as onboard the T Harbor Express ferries.
The First Night Harbor Cruises are just the warm-up for the evening fun. Boston’s First Night fireworks are always must-see, but Boston’s Best Cruises takes it a step further by offering Guests front row seats with a live blues-band performance – all while exploring Boston from the water.
Boston ’s Best Cruises (BBC) and The Yard Rock Productions are putting on a great show to close out 2011 and ring in 2012, all aboard the Voyager III ferry. The evening features local -favorite Delaware Floyd and the Energizers, with special guest Dwight “Big D” Streetman of The Marsels performing “old school R&B dance music.” At the stroke of midnight, Guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne while viewing the Boston fireworks.
“The weather is looking perfect for all First Night events – dry, with temperatures in the mid-forties. This is a great opportunity for people who have never been out to the Boston Harbor Islands to see how close they are, and hopefully plan a visit later this year” said Boston ’s Best Cruises principal Michael McGurl. For the past four years we have been working closely with the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, National Park Service, and MA Department of Conservation and Recreation to offer year-round access to Boston Harbor and the Harbor Islands . It’s exciting for us all to be part of the First Night celebration.”
The Fireworks Cruise will depart from two convenient locations; first at 8 PM from the Quincy Shipyard, second at 9:15 PM from the Long Wharf Ferry Center in Boston . Guests may disembark at either stop following the fireworks show. This 21+ event is $65 in advance and $75 the day of the cruise; with a special couples’ price of $120. Ticket includes hors d’oeuvres and a champagne cocktail for toasting in 2012.
