Another Miami area yoga studio is expanding as the desire for fitness and holistic living builds in the Miami community. Rina Yoga, founded by Rina Jakubowicz, has added a new studio at 1250 Coral Way, Miami, next door to LifeFood Gourmet, the acclaimed raw and vegan-friendly restaurant, creating a new "conscious corner" in Miami located close to areas such as Coral Gables, Brickell, and Coconut Grove.
Rina Yoga's original Coral Gables studio at 2490 Coral Way will continue to provide a variety of classes and teacher trainings, focusing more on evening classes and workshops, while the new location will present daytime offerings, that will include Vinyasa and Hatha/Gentle yoga classes, teacher training, eco-chic trunk shows, and morning self-guided yoga sessions.
Rina Yoga also offers classes downtown at the JW Marriott Marquis (255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami), as Rina's yoga programs have quickly expanded in the last few years. Rina first became involved in yoga herself when a friend suggested she take up the practice. She was initially resistant, but when she had her first class she found it challenging and fascinating and continued with it. Yoga became a resource that helped her as she pursued educational and career goals and coped with personal challenges such as divorce. Rina reports that she sees yoga students in general experience greater happiness in their lives as they become less stressed and more relaxed. She also enjoys seeing the friendships that build among students.
Rina is the author of Choose Peace, a book she wrote to help teach others what she learned from her experience applying the classic yoga philosophical principles found in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. She describes the writing style in her book as "conversational," as it seeks to make the teachings practical and relevant to readers. Rina says "Yoga is for everyone," and she seeks to make yoga comfortable for each person's individual needs, so even if you've had yoga classes in the past that seemed intimidating or overwhelming she encourages you to give yoga a try at one of the Rina Yoga studios. For new students she offers an initial class for free so that you can try it out and see if it is right for you.
