Rihanna is set to open the 2010 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 21, 2010 on ABC, according to a November 5, 2010 press release from ABC. Rihanna will open the 38th Annual American Music Awards, in what will be her fourth appearance on the AMAs. Rihanna is nominated for an AMA in the Soul/Rhythm & Blues category for Favorite Female Artist.
Other acts performing at the AMAs include: Diddy-Dirty Money, Ne-Yo, Bon Jovi, P!nk, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Usher. Additional performers will be announced.
AMA producer Larry Klein stated in the ABC press release, "We could not be more excited to officially announce one of pop music's biggest stars to open the celebration at the AMAs. Be sure to tune in so you don't miss this surely memorable moment."
The American Music Awards show will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday, November 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
dick clark productions will also air a live red carpet digital pre-show, "@ The 2010 AMAs," on November 21st at 2:00 p.m., PT / 5:00 p.m., ET. The pre-show, featuring hosts Danny Gokey, Jennette McCurdy, Lance Bass, Whitney Port and returning correspondent David Lehre, will be available on ABC.com, and USTREAM.TV.
