All talk of Rihanna's much anticipated designer collaboration with River Island has finally arrived and will debut on Feb 16th at the London Fashion Week and then will be on sale to the public this March worldwide online and in stores in the UK. For us state-side, the clothing line will be available in Open Ceremony stores in New York and California and online.
"Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me. I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege. I can't wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!"
No longer conformed with just landing on the best dressed lists, Rihanna has made the move from pop star to fashion style icon. To further prove her fashion sense, Rihanna also has a TV fashion show premiering on the Style Network titles “Style of Rock”. This isn't the first collaboration that bears her name and signature either since Rihanna has also released a denim line in collaboration with Armani and a lingerie line with Emporio Armani back in 2011.
"We are very excited to present our Rihanna for River Island collection at London Fashion Week," said Ben Lewis, River Island's chief executive. "This is the perfect platform to showcase Rihanna's design talent and ambition."
Rihanna's new collection is all about her own personal style and items that are missing from her wardrobe as necessities as well as other women's wardrobes. As Rihanna's style tends to lend its self more to a British flavor it would only be naturally that she would collaborate with a well know High Street chain versus a more American brand.
