Rihanna's tattoo honors Tupac - tattoos to remember the dead prevalent

Rihanna’s glow in the dark “Thug Life” tattoo that pays homage to Tupac Shakur is one of a few tattoos sported by Hip Hop music makers honoring their deceased idols. Snoop Dogg not only has the name of Nate Dogg tattooed on his arm, but a portrait of the late hip-hop hook master, according to MTV.

“All Doggs Go to Heaven” make up the words tattooed under Nate Dogg’s face on Snoop’s arm. Tattoos are used by people from all walks of life as a way to remember those who’ve gone before them.

In Rihanna’s case, she was only 8 years-old when Tupac died, so she didn’t have ties with him in the real world, but apparently she feels some type of ties with him spiritually. “Thug Life” was the tattoo that Tupac had inked across his stomach.
