Rihanna recently posed for a photo with a cute little primate and didn't think anything of sharing the picture with her millions of followers on Twitter and Instagram. However, according to a Sept. 22 report by The Huffington Post, her picture ended up getting two people arrested.
While visiting the island of Phuket, Rihanna came across a man and a teen boy who were allowing tourists to take photos with a squirrel-like primate called a slow loris. Of course the singer had to pose with the animal, and of course she had to give her photo this caption: "Look who was talkin dirty to me!"
Unfortunately for the pair that was trying to profit off of pictures of the animal, the slow loris is a protected species. Authorities were alerted to Rihanna's photo, and the two individuals were arrested for exploiting the animal.
Rihanna obviously didn't think that there was anything wrong with these two men letting her cuddle a cute little critter, but this story should be used as a teachable moment for tourists—locals who are offering photo ops with exotic animals might be breaking the law, so it's not a good idea to put money in their pockets. It's also possible that these animals aren't treated well since they're viewed as a source of income. RiRi also posted a photo of herself with a group of elephants in chains, and she gave it this caption: "They all hail Empress when She walk by." These majestic creatures are often abused and mistreated when they're used for entertainment, so she might not like to know just how they were trained to stand still and "hail the Empress."
At least some good came from one of RiRi's photos.
