The legal battle between Rihanna and her ex-accountant, Peter Gounis, has taken a turn for the worse. According to a March 20th report by TMZ, the accountant has fired back at the accusation that he “grossly” mismanaged her funds.

The legal war started when Rihanna filed a lawsuit claiming that her ex-accountant cost her millions of dollars. According to legal documents, Rihanna claims that the accountant reduced her net worth from over $9 million to just under $2 million in a single year. Yet, the accountant has recently fired back at these allegations.

In documents filed with the court, the accountant claims that Rihanna blew through her millions through reckless spending, and her decision to cancel a tour to film the flop “Battleship”. Furthermore, the documents allege that Rihanna would spend exorbitant amounts of money on designer shoes, clothes and elaborate parties.

While the public is unlikely to ever know the truth behind these allegations, if the accountant’s argument is even partially correct, then Rihanna’s fans should be worried about her financial sophistication. Stay tuned for more updates about this nasty lawsuit.
