Rihanna's hit 'We Found Love' was meant for another

Popjustice reported this morning that Rihanna’s hit single “We Found Love” was originally written for former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

In an interview with Notion magazine Nicole revealed that she was just too busy to sing the track. She also felt it was too similar to other dance songs she had been recording at the time.

The vocalist continued to reveal some other blunders in her history. Nicole took part in the decision to pass on the song “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley as part of the Pussycat Dolls. They also rejected a song called "Just Dance" written by the then unknown Lady Gaga.

British singer Leona Lewis previously made public her dismay at having Rihanna release “We Found Love”. The X-Factor winner had recorded the song with producer Calvin Harris, but lost the song after refusing to use it as her lead single. She claimed to the Daily Star that her version was superior.

This would not be the first time Rihanna has scored big off another artist's garbage. Her worldwide hit “Umbrella” was written for and rejected by Britney Spears.
