Singer Rihanna, who's a sleek size 2-4, sports tiny short-shorts that accentuate her mile-long, toned legs in the November 2011 issue of British Vogue.
Surprisingly, Rihanna, a workout fanatic who does lots of cardio and strength-trains, is self-conscious about her legs.
"I’m insecure about [my legs]," she said. "Everyone wants to have slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same. I do weights but I don’t want my legs to bulk up so I do a lot of cardio.
"I’ve lost a lot of weight since I started working out and if I exercise every day for a week, I can drop several pounds. If I diet, I see even faster results....
Cardio is the key....a lot of running on the treadmill. I have a personal trainer who travels with me if we have a big event coming up. I work out every day but I need a trainer to motivate me."
The 5'8" Rihanna, who usually weighs 133 pounds, works hard to maintain her svelte physique.
'I Don't Want to Lose My Curves'
In addition to cardio exercise and weight-lifting, she follows a low-carb diet.
"For the first time, I don't want to get rid of the curves," Rihanna said. "I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it's not unhealthy, so I'm going to rock with it."
Despite her healthy lifestyle, Rihanna says growing up with a drug-addicted parent (her dad, Ronald Fenty, is a former crack addict) made her grow up too fast.
“I saw too much," she says. "I was way too mature for my age.”
Rihanna, who has come under fire for her racy music videos, insists she's a different person in real life.
"That’s not me (in those sexy videos)," she says. "That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art… I just want to make music."
