Sunday night singer Rihanna and rapper Drake gave the audience and viewers a fun and flirty performance at the 2011 NBA All-Star game halftime show held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Surprising the audience, Toronto rapper joined RiRi to perform their hit single “What’s My Name?” from her latest album “Loud.”
As the island flavor beat played, and Drizzy Drake made his way through the crowd onto the stage, the cameras caught a grinning Rihanna twirling her bright red locks while singing through giggles.
From the moment Drizzy stepped foot on the stage the chemistry was evident, and although it was only the duos second time performing together, they looked as comfortable and relaxed as if it were their 100th time.
Throughout the performance the artists were challenging each other as if the person that gave the biggest shock wins. The “Good Girl Gone Bad” singer caught her collaborator off guard when she spontaneously pulled him close, momentarily catching the Young Money rapper off guard with her intense gaze.
As payback the “Fancy” artist switched up the lyrics in his verse. Since it was the Miss Rihanna’s 23rd birthday he added a b-day message to the song. “I switch it up cuz I got something to say,“ the Canadian rapper declared,” We gon’ have some fun tonight, baby happy birthday.” The Grammy award winning performer looked shocked and flattered.
Before their set was over Rihanna seductively walked around Drake until the two locked eyes. From there the “Over” performer made a funny face which caused the spunky redhead to laugh and with a playful push sent him on his way before breaking out into island styled choreography.
The connection Drake, born Aubrey Graham, and Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, have is not a coincidence. The pair publically admitted they had a short-lived fling not to long ago. Aubrey addressed their relationship in a song with Alicia Keys called “Fireworks,” and later on Robyn confirmed it.
