While many are disagreeing with Rihanna’s decision to take Chris back, she is in a happy place right now. She feels good about her decision and has made it a point that if he messes up again, she’s done for good.
Many people thought that Rihanna broke up with Chris because he beat her up. In a report on Hollywood Life, Rihanna told Rolling Stone, “I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me, to feel the consequences of that.” Contrary to popular belief, she wasn’t as worried about Chris beating her up. She was worried that his heart wasn’t in the right place. He was taking her for granted, and the only way to make realize how much he actually needed her was to get rid of him.
Rihanna told Rolling Stone, “I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.” She also added, “We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s---. We value other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”
