Singer Rihanna flung a cold, hard diss in Lady Gaga's direction this weekend, calling the award winning pop star "generic".

Rihanna made the statement while discussing her upcoming fifth album 'Loud' during an interview with Scott Mills of BBC1. “This one I’m definitely…I’ve never been this excited about anything I’ve done creatively and this…it’s just the perfect Rihanna album...Every song is tailored to me…I wanted songs that were all Rihanna songs, that nobody else could do. I didn’t want the generic pop record that Ke$ha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry could just do and it’ll work. I wanted a song, or songs, that were Rihanna songs, that only I could do, had that little West Indian vibe to it, had that certain tone, a certain sass and a certain energy.”
The first single off 'Loud,' a dance track called 'Only Girl in the World' was released on September 21st. 'Loud' is scheduled for release by Def Jam records on November 12, 2010.
Rihanna performed at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles last month. Lady Gaga won six trophies at the event.
Gaga is currently working on her third album "Born this Way" scheduled for release in 2011.
