Rihanna getting booed is a regular thing these days. The famed pop singer, once again, was totally tardy, arriving 80 minutes late to a concert Thursday night in Australia, prompting her exasperated fans to cascade her with boos when she finally showed, reports the Inquisitr on Sept. 29.
The 25-year-old Rihanna is well known for her disrespectful failure to adhere to her concert’s scheduled start times. While many acts start a little after the ticket time (we'll call that fashionably late), Rihanna ramps up the rudeness to a new level, often arriving hours late to the stage.
When the spoiled star finally showed at the Adelaide Entertainment Center, she was roundly booed. Many fans never got a chance to express their disapproval, taking off and considering her a no-show.
In typical Rihanna fashion, she offered to apology, no explanation. Tuesday’s concertgoers waited too, although they only had to stand around for 40 minutes for the diva to show. Perhaps the singer is taking a hint from her 2012 Unapologetic studio album.
In July, Rihanna swore at fans in Manchester, U.K. who threw “crisps,” or potato chips at her for being late. In May, she made a crowd in Boston wait a whopping three hours for her.
Speculation was that Rihanna was late Thursday because she was off getting tanked before her show. The singer was “glassy-eyed” and “obviously drunk,” says one reviewer.
“When she finally arrived, it was obvious Rihanna had been enjoying a few sherbets [Australian slang for beer] backstage,” a reviewer for NovaFM Australia wrote.
“If her glassy eyes didn’t arouse suspicions, then her constant crotch grabbing and lack of actual singing would have given the game away,” the writer said.
