Rihanna Bob Marley tribute: Singer to honor late Reggae star at Grammys

A Rihanna Bob Marley tribute performance will be a part of the Grammy Awards 2013 show on TV Sunday night. The singer from the Barbados is scheduled for several performances during the ceremony, with one set to include Bruno Mars and Sting.

According to Vibe Vixen on Feb. 9, Rihanna posted a backstage Instagram pic with several of the Marleys. Later on, it was reported that Ken Ehrlich, the Grammy Awards executive producer was "pleased" by her performance. Rihanna is already one of the winners on the night and will also perform during the ceremony on her own.

Bob Marley died in 1981 at age 36 due to complications from melanoma and cancer. However, his music lives on and has influenced many artists to this day. Rap star Nas recently released a collaborative album with Damian Marley called "Distant Relatives" which went as high as #5 on the U.S. Billboard album charts.

It was confirmed that Bruno Mars and Sting would be a part of the on-stage performance. Ziggy and Damian Marley will also join in for the tribute performance. The 2013 Grammy Awards are shown on CBS affiliate WDBJ 7 in Roanoke.
