Rihanna blows out vocal chords: Cancels Boston concert due to laryngitis

Beantown Rihanna fans got the shaft today. According to the New York Daily News, the singer was forced to cancel her Sunday night concert in Boston due a case of laryngitis.

Boston’s TD Garden was to be RiRi’s second stop on her “Diamonds World Tour.” Fans are being told to hold onto their tickets, which will be honored when the show is rescheduled according to the Boston Herald.

"Unfortunately, following her sold out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor's instruction is unable to perform this evening,” a spokesperson said.

It is unclear as to whether she’ll be ready for her show in Baltimore on Tuesday but it has not been cancelled as of yet.

Rihanna should be careful and guard her voice with her life. She is certainly not the only vocalist who has injured her vocal chords. Superstars like Celine Dion, Steven Tyler and Adele have all had throat issues and there are many more.

You can bet that mum’s the word for this girl for now.
