On Feb. 17, 2013, paparazzi snapped photos of Rihanna walking out of The Box, a London night club, as she dabbed a bloody knee with a tissue.
According to TMZ, the singers leg was injured after someone allegedly tossed a bottle in her direction and began shouting things about Chris Brown.
The bottle reportedly contained Lucozade, an energy drink sold in the UK and Ireland, according to the beverage’s website.
TMZ notes the bottle did not actually hit Rihanna’s knee, but she allegedly “scraped” her leg “during the commotion when she brushed up against a metal shop grate.”
Hollywood Life reports the attack actually took place outside the club when an irate man began yelling at Rihanna, who was in the UK to debut her new clothing line at London’s Fashion Week.
According to Media Take Out, Rihanna’s bodyguard tried to catch the man who attacked the singer, but hurt his leg as he gave chase and needed medical attention for the injury.
