Rihanna attacked by fan, an apparent Chris Brown hater (Video)

It's not going very well for Rihanna on her latest visit to London. Her fashion show at the London Fashion Week was trashed by the critics, but before she found out that awful news, she was attacked by one of her own fans after celebrating her River Island clothing line's debut early Sunday (Feb. 17). Perhaps it was an omen of sorts...

The "Cheers (Drink To That)" singer had just stepped out of the Box Nightclub, according to the New York Daily News, when a fan, apparently angry that she was again dating singer Chris Brown, the one-time boyfriend who had brutally assaulted her in February 2009, threw a bottle at her. And that wasn't all he hurled. A witness noted that the as yet unidentified man was yelling insults at the R&B singer that were directed at Chris Brown.

Dodging the glass missile, Rihanna fell into a metal shop grate and scraped her knew, drawing blood. She was quickly bundled into a waiting car. Although hers was not a serious injury, a member of Rihanna's security was hurt. He was taken to a nearby hospital after injuring his leg in the scuffle with the assailant.

But the attacker's ire may have been all for naught, considering that Rihanna's relationship with Brown may have already ended. Although the two have been seen together quite a bit over the past few weeks, including basketball games, the Grammys, and in court (where Rihanna reportedly blew kisses at the "Don't Judge Me" singer), a report this past week from various outlets, including Perez Hilton, noted that both showed up at the Playhouse Nightclub in Los Angeles in separate vehicles, were seated apart, and did not approach each other the entire evening.

So...

Perhaps the most unfortunate part of the entire episode early Sunday morning was that the attacker, in showing displeasure at Rihanna's choice of reestablishing a relationship with a man who had abused her violently, resorted to attacking her verbally and in a violent manner as well.

And those critics in the morning papers calling out her fashion debut...
