It is no secret that Rihanna has no problem wearing as little as possible in front of a camera. In fact, she often takes photos of herself in various stages of undress and posts them online. She's even designed a few outfits that leave little to the imagination. But seeing Rihanna sans clothes enters a new dimension of sexy when juxtaposed with one of the fashion world's most marketable supermodels -- Kate Moss.
That's right. International singing sensation Rihanna got together with modeling icon Kate Moss for a sexy photo shoot for V magazine and, before all the camera work was done, the two were naked and on top of each other. The Daily Mail reported on the Spring issue of the mag Thursday (Feb. 22), describing the shoot as "kinky." Although the article goes further, painting the Mario Testino photo session as "S&M themed," that might be a bit of an exaggeration. Moss and Rihanna appear in various outfits and mostly in black lace lingerie, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of sadism, masochism, or bondage in the photos. (Unless, of course, you consider the shots with Moss in black leather pants or where, wearing what appears to be a maid's costume, she is seen crawling on all fours. But that seems a bit of a stretch.)
And it might seem an odd pairing -- the 25-year-old R&B singer and the 39-year-old model. But beauty is ageless. And for V magazine, it provides a riveting bit of photographic art.
It is the cover shots that grab you. Both of them. They are stunning. Rihanna sits on Moss' lap in one. Although Rihanna is dressed in a two-piece black lace bra-and-panties set and a black blazer, Moss is completely naked. In the second cover photo, the positions and amount of clothing are reversed.
Rihanna says the shoot was like a fantasy come true.
It came together when she and Testino were discussing the next time they would have a session. They were attending a Stella McCarthy presentation a year ago. Kate Moss was there and overheard them. She said she wanted to do the photo shoot with them.
Rihanna recalls: "Again, I was like, 'Are you f***ing kidding me?'… I was dying on the inside. All my fantasies were coming true: Mario, V, Kate Moss.’"
But as the shoot played out, the two women decided to have a little fun. Clothes started coming off. Before long, they were nude.
And how was it? "And that was the best shot…," the "Do Ya Thang" singer says. "Take her top off and put that b**** on my lap!"
For those who enjoy seeing the two beauties together, there might be more sexy photo shoots in the future. Moss says she's game. Of such a potentiality Rihanna adds coyly, "That depends on the terms, but I’m sure Kate knows them."
