As someone who has voiced, written, and fought the extreme right-wing types ever since I became politically literate, I find some solace in the recent debt ceiling challenge, but these ignorant fools will try again-trust me. The funny thing about these extremist dimwits is they really believe they are super patriots. They seek to destroy democracy, not build on it. Ted Cruz and the other army of Tea Party twits like Sarah Palin wouldn't know a forefather from a step father, but they always try to employ that gimmick of reading a few lines from Jefferson or whoever as though they're experts on those who helped found this great nation. Glenn Beck tries this hogwash, and so the other lemmings just followed suit. They want a dictatorship where it's their way or the highway. The can make remarks about "Obamacare", but much of the Affordable Care Act is taken from what Romney did, and a template of ideas from a plan created by Bob Dole and other Republicans. It involves the private sector as insurance companies are involved-some believe too involved. The Republicans never have alternative ideas-they just seek to wreck the government, and push down our standing in the world. We lost around $24 billion due to the Tea Bagger shutdown.
Those who think they actually accomplished something are delusional. John Boehner is a hack, who, if he had any real courage, should have stood up weeks ago, and demanded a up or down vote among all House members. He didn't do that because this slug wants desperately to hang on to his job. He opted to wait out long enough to where enough Republicans saw the hand-writing on the wall and demanded an end to a very stupid move: all promoted by a man who looks like a combination of Pat Buchanan and Lou Costello-Ted Cruz. Cruz has an approach which consists of constant blabber about "how the American people feel"; the reality though, according to all polls, is that they didn't want a government shut down over Obamacare. Many want a single payer approach to healthcare, much like Medicare. I agree that the awful start due to website screw-ups, is inexcusable.
The Tea Party hicks are low educated and easily manipulated types who actually look to people like Cruz and Glenn Beck for guidance. This is how moronic they are. Beck and Cruz don't care about much except their careers, and the Tea Party crowd are their perfect foils since they make up enough of a party segment to spend enough, vote enough, and show up enough to actually vote in a contingent in the House which can hold sway over a lackluster leader like Boehner. Now, hopefully, enough of Republican Party regulars will finally see the shortsightedness of their ways and back off from supporting Tea Party types. They helped the Republicans win the House in 2010, but at what price? They are alienating most of the general voting public, and given enough time, may actually further remove their party from gaining much more than 30 or so House seats. Once enough demographics change in key states, the process can begin to remove most of any Tea Party representation. This must be the goal of the pragmatic middle-to wage a war against those who wish to do in America.
The extreme right were once aligned with Joe McCarthy, who never had proof of some vast influx of communists invading our government. That was all a myth to enhance McCarthy's power and influence. It worked obviously because, again, the weak-minded hacks of America didn't have the mental capacity to understand reality-much as is the case today. The extreme right hurt America then, and they did so with this recent shut down. Other nations around the world wonder what the hell is going on here when a small band of buffoons can shut down the government and bring the economy to a screeching halt. These countries already have universal healthcare-a system which doesn't allow sick people to go broke because they didn't have enough money for healthcare.
In some ways, I look forward to the inevitable fight within the Republican Party over its soul. They don't currently have one, but maybe ridding their party of Ted Cruz, and other far out maniacs they can once again build a viable party structure which can honestly work with both Democrats and independents in building that more perfect union.
