Put February 24th on your calendar. Riffle NW in the Pearl District is having another rogue cocktail competition, this time featuring Angel’s Envy Port Finished Bourbon Whiskey. Based on the fun and frivolity and exceptional drinks created in Riffle NW’s recent Drambuie rogue competition, you’ll want to be there.
What’s a rogue cocktail competition? It’s when competitive bartenders throw down $20 in a pool, show up to hear what the rules are---usually involving the announced spirit but with some surprise ingredient requirements announced. Think of it as an “Iron Chef’s Challenge” for bartenders: what do you create on the spur of the moment?
There should be plenty of competition, some creative cocktails made and consumed, and one winner to rule them all (and brag incessantly about it.).
Since the last rogue competition was so crowded, you might want to get to the Riffle NW bar a little early. As lagniappe, they’ll be offering a bowl of free punch while it lasts and a lineup of special cocktails for $5.00.
Here’s the announcement from Brandon Josie, Bar Manager at Riffle NW:
If you're a fan of port finished competition, get your assets to Riffle NW on the 24th for a dealer's choice style cocktail comp featuring Angel's Envy bourbon.
The first ten bartenders to throw $20 in the pot will go head to head creating a unique Angel's Envy cocktail. The required ingredients and rules are supplied day of. The winner will take home the $200 pot, have their cocktail featured on the Riffle NW menu for the month of March and receive a (KILLER) gift basket from Angel's Envy. You want to win this one.
Just want to party? We got you covered - free punch while it lasts and $5 cocktail specials.
Riffle NW is located at NW 13th Street and Flanders in the Pearl District.
