Crafty Korea plans to arouse Latin America long after the World Cup hype and hijinks pass. Cue KBEE 2014 (Korea Brand and Entertainment Expo) in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the Sao Paulo World Trade Center, and REM (Roadshow for Emerging Markets) in Mexico City, Mexico at the Marriott Reforma Hotel.

The aforementioned events are separate but related in several ways, most notably the dates (mid August) and the agenda (to facilitate mutually beneficial networking among prominent Korean and Latin American companies and individuals). In short, the goal is to flood Latin America with the Korean Wave.

Both gatherings feature hefty entertainment components. Friday, August 15 in Sao Paulo, and Tuesday, August 19 in Mexico City are the designated days for select Korean content businesses to strut their stuff. KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) will sponsor six Korean companies in their efforts to seek collaborative opportunities. These entities will present themselves live in both Brazil and Mexico:

Rainbowbridge Agency, Inc. - With offices throughout Asia, this is the top K-Pop artist management, production, and promotion firm. Newsflash for fans: live K-Pop performances are on the agenda in Sao Paulo! The price of admission: FREE!

PlayOnCast Corporation - PlayOnCast produces and distributes Korean reality series and documentaries. Its business also includes Korean-Chinese and Korean-Japanese co-productions in the above genres.

Grafizix Company, Ltd. - Grafizix researches, develops, and produces original animation for TV and digital media.

COAN Studio - In addition to animation, COAN Studio licenses and merchandises its creations in Korea.

WonderWorld Studios, Inc. - With a satellite office in Los Angeles and a 12-year track record, WonderWorld is poised to expand on its success record in visual effects, 2D/3D conversion, and theatrical feature film quality animation.

Black Spot Entertainment - Former Nexon employees founded this first-person-shooter online game development company in 2011.

Los Angeles-based confab coordinator Kamile DePriest enthuses about attracting potential Latin American buyers and collaborators to the forthcoming festivities.

"These events are a wonderful opportunity for businesses all over the world to connect and gain knowledge about trends in technology and entertainment," says DePriest.
