With 55 entries, this year's Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event should be as exciting as ever. Rolex Kentucky is the only CCI4* in America.
April rain, well, storms, should have the cross country course green and ready. Plus, the sun is 'scheduled' to shine this weekend.
Here are some riders to watch:
Oliver Townend from Great Britain who, if you remember from last year, headed to Kentucky seeking the Grand Slam of Eventing only to suffer a traumatic fall on the cross country course.
Hannah Sue Burnett, a local rider, has been taking the Eventing scene by storm.
Kim Severson, a highly respected rider, is back with her mount pulled from the World Equestrian Games last fall due to infection.
Allison Springer from Virginia has two mounts and is up first in Dressage tomorrow morning.
Karen O'Connor, always a crowd favorite, is part of Eventing's dynamic-duo with husband David. Look for them to try their hand at reining Saturday evening at the Reining Freestyle Championship at the Alltech Arena.
Philip Dutton, originally from Australia, now makes his home in Pennsylvania and rides for the United States.
Mark Todd, the brilliant New Zealander, comes to Kentucky fresh from his win at Badminton.
The first horse inspections get under way today and the cross-country course opens at 1:00 p.m. for walking.
