Ride the Truman Trolley in Independence MO

The Truman Trolley is rolling the streets of Independence! Once again the bright red Truman Trolleys is running from the Independence Square to and from major tourism attractions around town.

Local residents and tourists from all over the country can take advantage of this offer for an easy, affordable and no stress way to visit the city’s tourism attractions and historic sites as well as the shops and restaurants on the Square. The McClain Group & Independence Tourism are partnering to present this opportunity to see many of the major highlights of Independence without the hassles of driving and parking. Cost: $1 for riders six and older provides unlimited rides all day on the date of purchase. Under six ride for free. Tickets for tourism attractions must be purchased at the site. (Note: Tickets for the Truman Home National Historic Site at 219 N. Delaware must be purchase at the Truman Visitors’ Center at 223 N. Main.)

Dates: Operating Fridays and Saturdays, beginning Friday June 1 and ending Saturday, August 25. Schedule: 10:00 a.m. First pick up will be at Clinton’s Soda Fountain, corner of Main and Maple on the Square with last drop-off at Clinton’s at 5 p.m. Trolley will circle continuously past the following attractions.

Mormon Heritage Sites (Community of Christ Temple and Auditorium, and Mormon Visitors Center, Church of Christ Temple Lot ), River and Walnut Streets 5. Truman Sites (Truman Home at 219 N. Delaware) and 6. Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, 500 W. U.S. 24 Highway 7. Vaile Mansion, 1500 N. Liberty. 8. Truman Home Ticket and Visitor Center, 223 N. Main and 9. 1859 Jail & Marshal's Home Museum, 217 N. Main.
