St. Patrick’s Day celebrants, take your marks. Run, don’t walk, to the nearest MCTS station after celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Just don’t climb behind the wheel of your vehicle, if you’ve been reveling. Why risk it, particularly when free rides are available across Milwaukee?
The Miller Lite Free Rides program is offering lifts without charge on St. Patrick’s Day night. This holiday safety program represents a joint effort between Miller Lite, the Milwaukee County Transit System, several local community organizations, civic groups, law enforcement agencies. The aim is to prevent drunk driving all over Milwaukee on St. Patrick’s Day. Similar offers are made on other holidays.
“Providing this service is our way of reminding you to plan ahead and celebrate responsibly,” reads a statement on the Miller Lite Free Rides web page.
The Miller Lite Free Rides offer’s slogan reads, “No fares. No Blarney.”
The free rides are available on all Metra Transit routes from 6 p.m. on Monday, March 17, through 1 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18. Additional rides may be available through the Miller Lite Taxi Finder App for iPhone users.
A similar Miller Lite Free Rides offer also runs in the Twin Cities for St. Patrick’s Day.
