The best way to get familiar with the sights and movie sets of Albuquerque is by taking a ride on an adobe trolley. ABQ Trolley Company is the only game in town and is independently owned and operated by “Two Guys and a Trolley. ” If you are new to Duke City like I am, it is probably the best thing you can experience. Besides, it is the only trolley in world that is covered in stucco.
Board the trolley in historic Old Town, just southeast of the church at 208 San Felipe NW. Since it is open-air, be sure to bring a jacket, especially if you are taking the tour in the spring or fall. The 85-minute city tour will narrate and take you to such places as: Old Town, Museum Row, ABQ Little Theatre/Country Club, Downtown, City Hall/Civic Plaza, East Downtown, Nob Hill, Bart Prince House, University of New Mexico, Sports Stadiums, Railyards/Barefas, and the Rio Grande Zoo/Bio Park. While there are no stops on the Best of Albuquerque City Tour, it is still the best way to see the city and to learn from the locals where things happen.
The trolley runs from April 1 – October 31 and costs $25 for adults, $23 for seniors 65 + as well as students with ID, and $12 for children 12 and under. Curbside pick-up times are Tuesday-Saturday at 11 am and 1 pm, and on Sunday at 1 pm and 3 pm.
