Already having had a very successful summer with the release of “Fast and Furious 6” Vin Diesel is likely to extend that success early in to winter with the release of the third movie—not including the shorts and the animated films--in the Riddick series, with the release of “Riddick: Rule the Dark”.
Obviously the series already has an established fan base, but with the return of Karl Urban, who’s been spending his time away from Riddick seeking out new life and new civilizations on “Star Trek” as Dr. McCoy and as Eomer in “The Lord of the Rings” he’s bound to help expand the crop of dedicated sci-fi/fantasy fans focused on the Friday, September 6, 2013 release.
Not that the Riddick series needs the help—but with the addition of “Battlestar Galactica’s” Katee Sackhoff, in which she played the extremely popular Capt. Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace, Riddick: Rule the Dark’s box office numbers should rival those of Fast and Furious 6.
Riddick also stars Bookeem Woodbine (Ray, Battery Park) as Moss, Jordi Mollá (Colombiana, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) as Santana, and singer-songwriter, Keri Hilson (Think Like A Man) as Keri—Santana’s prisoner.
Opens Friday, September 6.
