No matter how dedicated you are to making home cooked meals, there will inevitably come a day when you are too exhausted, too frazzled, and too up-to-your-arms in dirty diapers to think about what to make for dinner. On these days, Rico’s Pizzeria in downtown Englewood will come to your rescue.

Rico’s Pizzeria is the best takeout in Englewood because the food is inexpensive, fast, and absolutely delicious. Rico’s is the perfect takeout meal for new moms and dads because you don’t have to plan ahead. You can leave the house the moment you place your order, and your food will be waiting for you by the time you arrive at the restaurant to pick it up. Rico’s quickness is invaluable for new parents who are both sleep-deprived and starving.

If you are a meat eater, you can’t go wrong with The Sausage, a calzone oozing with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, onions and plenty of cheese.  Make sure you order it "smothered" with sauce and cheese.  For the vegetarian in the house, Rico’s cheese pizza is delightful and delicious.

If you are in the maternity ward at Swedish Medical Center and have grown tired of hospital food, Rico’s is only three blocks away with delicious takeout.

Eating at Rico’s is an excellent way to support small, local businesses. Most of the time when you call to place your order, Rico himself answers the phone. The family-run business has been making pizzas for twenty-seven years; they have clearly mastered the art of delicious Italian food.

Rico’s is located at 3500 South Broadway (about half a block north of Hampden) in downtown Englewood. There is parking behind the restaurant if you don’t want to park on the street. Check out the menu on their website, then place your pick up order by calling 303-781-0541. They don’t accept credit cards, so be sure you have cash or checks in your wallet.
