Ricky Gervais started his day off with a grenade on the table. The comedian and host of the Golden Globes showed off his running skills on Super Bowl Sunday with a commercial for Time Warner. In what was a classically funny spot, Gervais was running for his life as a series of explosions were set off behind him. It could have been another day at the office as the funny man scurries through the streets, but for the fans it was a laugh out loud moment.
As the comedian sometimes finds himself in hot water over his jokes, this time it wasn’t so much about being funny as it was about seeing his response. In what was a slow motion action, the entertainer appears to hurry along as a series of explosions happen after the initial grenade. Of course the only thing that saves him is how fast he runs and Time Warner.
Fans of Gervais loved the ad. Never one to be thought of as an action hero, Ricky showed that comedians can be versatile and could run as fast as any other hero, especially if their life depended on it.
