Ricky Gervais compliments Christianity

Despite acquiring fame and fortune the cowardly atheist lion still has not found any courage. Indeed, the New Atheist styled activist atheists are as cowardly as ever, if not more so.

The following quotes are from Vicky Allison’s Ricky Gervais says he has the right to offend people (Aug 25, 2011 AD):

Ricky Gervais said he has the right to offend people as he posed on the cover of a magazine in a controversial crucifixion-like picture. The September/October issue of New Humanist magazine features a shirtless Gervais, in jeans with a mic stand across his back in the style of a crucifixion with a crown of thorns on his head. The word 'atheist' is written in blood across his chest.

Yet, Ricky Gervais, well in keeping with his atheistic pedigree, is not interested in offending generic people. No, he is interested in offending Christians. He is on the cover of a magazine published by an anti-Christian support group purposefully seeking to both please his choir of likewise anti-Christian activists and specifically offend Christians.

Thus, he has complimented Christianity. How so? Think of it, would he dare to pose on a magazine cover with a turban and a scimitar in hand with the words “Muhammad” written across his chest. Or, would he dare to do any such thing whatsoever? No, of course not. He knows that mocking Christianity will gain him more fame, more fortune and that Christians will, at most, say, “I will not support his media ventures” and “I will pray for him.”

Just as his pusillanimous comrades have done, he does not tour Muslim countries or appear on their TV shows and magazines mocking Islam, Muhammad, the Qur'an or Allah. No, never!

Rather, they sit in the safety, comfort and lucrativeness of the USA and the UK—countries premised upon Judeo-Christian principles—and they take pride in making a living by offending people.

Note that:

…Atheist Ricky went on to discuss his loss of faith as a child. He said: 'I used to believe in God. The Christian one, that is. Luckily I was also interested in science and nature. And reason and logic. And honesty and truth. And equality and fairness. By the age of eight I was an atheist. [That word shouldn't even exist. It shouldn't be needed. But it does. And it is. [bracketed statement in original]

That he lost his faith in childhood makes him a very stereotypical atheist. Very many atheists have rejected God based on childish notions of God and their theology has not developed beyond a childish level—see Why atheism is chosen. Here is one such example:

Lewis Wolpert: I used to pray but I gave it up because when I asked God to help me find my cricket bat, he didn’t help.
Justin Brieley: Right, and that was enough for you to prove that God did not exist.
Lewis Wolpert: Well, yes. I just gave it up completely.

----------

Lewis Wolpert: [I] stopped believing in God when I was 15 or 16 because he didn’t give me what I asked for.

Note that Ricky Gervais stated that one of the things that make his blood boil is cruelty to animals. Well, in an atheistic universe the bio-organism known as Ricky Gervais has chosen to personally dislike cruelty perpetrated upon other bio-organisms by still other bio-organisms. Yet, in an atheistic universe there is nothing intrinsically or absolutely wrong, bad or evil about cruelty to animals—it is mere opinion.

But, then again, those who enjoy cruelty to animals can feel free to perform that act and then simply stated this to Ricky Gervais, “I have the right to offend you.”
