Rickolus at The Basement

Richard Colado - better known as Rickolus - was born and raised in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  A self-taught singer/songwriter, he’s been touring for much of the past decade either as a solo artist or as the front man of the band The Julius Airwave.

Rickolus wrote and recorded more than a dozen albums in a shed in his parents’ backyard.  His latest album, Coyote and Mule, brought him back to the equipment he used on those earlier recordings - specifically, a four-track recorder he started using when he was 16 years old.  Most of the songs on the new CD were written on the fly, in the backyard shed studio.  Not only did Rickolus write all the material, but he played every instrument used, mixed/engineered the tracks, and added some post-production effects.

Coyote and Mule will have 9 tracks on the digital version, but will also be sold at shows on cassette.  There will be two different colored cassette versions, each with different bonus tracks.

He’s also working with Ben Cooper of Radical Face and Astronautalis, and has projects coming out with both of them later this year.
