Eighties rocker Rick Springfield brings his "Stripped Down" Tour to Des Moines' Hoyt Sherman Place Saturday night at 8 p.m. The show will be a solo acoustic one with the singer telling the stories behind the songs and taking questions from the audience. Tickets to see the show are still available through the Hoyt Sherman box office for $50 to $65 and at all Ticketmaster locations for slightly more.
Australian actor, New York Times best-selling author, and pop/rock musician Rick Springfield hit it big in the eighties with four straight platinum-selling albums. The singer is best known for his #1 single "Jessie's Girl" (featured video), which won Springfield a Grammy Award for "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance", but he also hit it big with "I've Done Everything For You", "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Calling All Girls", "Love Somebody", "What Kind of Fool Am I?", and "Human Touch". Altogether, Springfield has collected seventeen Top 40 Pop hits over the years. His latest release, Songs for the End of the World, came out in late 2012.
