Actors Jason Thompson, Doug Davidson and singer Richard Marx were on hand to help honor the rocker/actor who moved to Hollywood from Australia to make it big in the 1970s.

Said Thompson, who plays Springfield’s TV son Patrick Drake opposite Springfield’s Dr. Noah Drake on the popular ABC soap, “General Hospital”:

“One of the great things about playing his son is where I come down that hallway, I hear this crunching guitar coming from his dressing room, all the time…What I have with this guy is a relationship that is so clean and is so pure – Rick has such an open heart- every time that door opens, we’re there to work, it’s an instant thing and I know that we just look at each other and we don’t have to do anything…and that’s something that I don’t take lightly.”

Marx spoke about his relationship with Springfield that began back in The Eighties and remains string to this day.

Davidson, who plays Paul Williams on the CBS drama “The Young and the Restless,” spoke of his long-standing friendship with Springfield that began when both were just starting their careers in Hollywood - recalling how the two used to walk up Hollywood Blvd to go to the movies.

Springfield made a return to “General Hospital” last year as part of the show’s 50th anniversary celebration and helped mark the return of The Nurses Ball with a performance of “Jessie’s Girl.”

In addition to music, the prolific artist just released his first novel, "Magnificent Vibration," is about a man who steals a mysterious self-help book from a bookstore, calls the 800-number scrawled inside the front cover and discovers he has a direct line to God.
