What can you say about a man 64 years old that can still drive woman crazy as if he were one of todays young pop star? Rick Springfield is definitely one of those, in fact he's way more than just a pop star he's a bonafide rock star!! Last nights stripped down all acoustic guitar set proved just that. Having heard those songs played in that format sounded beautiful. He opened the show with "I get Excited" from Working Class Dog. "Affair of the Heart"made the entire audience which was mostly women ages 35-50 go crazy as they sang along knowing every word. On "Don't Talk to Strangers" and "I've Done Everything For You," Springfield traded of vocals with the audience during the chorus. Immediately we were launched back to the 80s but with much better clothes and hair!! Rick also told stories of back in the day which were both amusing as well as heartwarming. Even though he used his laptop and smart phone to substitute a band which he called a "band in the box". He had a beautiful collection of guitars and combined with the songs and stories as well as an audience Q and A it was a great 2 hour show! It really felt more like Rick sitting in my living room reminiscing and plying great music on his guitar including a cover of Badfinger "Baby Blue" and finishing with the classic "Jesses Girl." Even in a solo acoustic show Springfield still rocked the house.
