There's rumors that rap artist Rick Ross crashed a Rolls-Royce in Florida recently while trying to avoid a drive-by shooting. The hip hop star is unharmed from the incident, and contrary to rumors, Ross was a passenger rather than the driver.
A report from New York Post on Jan. 28 indicates that Ross was inside the vehicle when it slammed into an apartment building in the Ft. Lauderdale area of Florida. Reportedly, the crash occurred following "an alleged drive-by shooting" in the area. Police confirmed that Ross was a passenger, and the reports indicate that nobody was injured in the crash.

The Rolls-Royce was apparently headed east on Las Olas Blvd at around 5 a.m. in the morning. Another car drove towards it and reportedly shot "dozens" of times at the car containing Ross. Bullets hit the passenger side of the car and windshield, so the driver sped right into the apartment building nearby to avoid the gunfire. Ross had just been celebrating his birthday earlier that evening at a Floridian restaurant, which also apparently caught some of the gunfire. As of this report, law officials are still searching for who was involved in the shooting.
For some this may bring to mind the incidents which took the lives of rap stars Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. Both individuals were victims of drive-by shootings, with Tupac shot in 1996 in Las Vegas and Notorious B.I.G. shot and killed less than a year later in Los Angeles. To this date, both of these popular rap stars' murders remain unsolved, although there are plenty of theories floating around as to who was involved and why.
