Rick Ross has hired personal security guards after he escaped from a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ross was driving away in his Rolls-Royce after leaving a nightclub in Miami. None of the bullets hit his vehicle, but they hit surrounding buildings.
In a report on Hollywood Life, Rick Ross was celebrating his birthday at LIV nightclub, and left the club in the early morning hours of January 28th. As he was driving away in his Rolls Royce, dozens of shots were fired at his car at around 5:00 a.m. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. TMZ reports that Rick lost control of the vehicle during the incident and crashed into an apartment building. There are no suspects and no arrests have been made.
Sources close to Ross told TMZ, the rapper had been getting threats for a while, but he wasn’t too concerned. Ross now considers the shooting to be an eye opener and will do whatever it takes to keep himself safe. He was already using armed bodyguards for protection at major events such as concerts and public appearances, but now in the wake of the shooting, he has decided he wants to have full-time security.
