Rick Owens rounds out his fashion label

A new year means new beginnings and that is what it is all about for diversified designer and California native, Rick Owens. He enjoyed immense success in 2013 as well.

Owens has designed here in the United States and also set up shop in Paris during his design career, affording him a wealth of knowledge on just what his customers want out of fashion. His very first runway collection shown in New York City in 2002 during New York Fashion Week earned him tremendous praise from fashion critic and editor Anna Wintour. American Vogue sponsored the show and she characterized him as one of her "Most Fabulous Recent Discoveries." He has also been the proud recipient of a few fashion awards over the years.

Now Rick Owens has a way to reach the world and capture an even greater customer base. The designer has followed the trend that other designers have decided to take and has gone virtual with his very own e-comm destination. It went live last month. But it seems to be difficult to get enough of Owens these days. Perhaps that is why he also opened a boutique in the area where many designers are flocking to open satellite boutiques, the Miami Design District. This boutique has music playing in the background from his iTunes library as you look through the racks of pieces from his diffusion lines, DRKSHDW and Lillies. You can also find some distinct pieces from his Spring 2014 Collection for both men and women. Rick Owens aims to appeal to a unique audience with his trademark dark colors and oversized outfits. Spring 2014 saw the arrival of oversized jackets and sweaters and draped shorts. There were a few of the cutout mesh shirts and varying black looks that commanded the runway.

There is no doubt that everlasting success has been in the cards for Rick Owens for some time now and will continue into the future. He has gained further recognition from his collaboration with Adidas last year. Targeting a culturally diverse city such as Miami will most likely be a big boost to his brand and a huge draw to the Miami Design District. The boutique is located at 3841 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33137. Besides having his online site, stores are also located in Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo. You can find Rick Owens at www.rickowens .eu.
